As a quick update on our project, we have now decided to aim to write an extract for the SlipKnot Journal, the magazine that comes out quarterly within the Knit and Crochet Guild. This idea was put to us by Barbara as we could put together an article and she could almost guarantee it would get published, we could then work on this submission to send to Selvedge at a later date.
After having a little read through one of the issues of SlipKnot, it was clear to me that as long as you write about something to do with knitting, crocheting or the Guild then that will be perfect for the magazine! The guild are eager to publish interesting pieces of writing that tell the other guild members what you have recently found or discovered, or just what you've been up to. I think writing an article, as students, about our experiences of volunteering at the guild could be really interesting for other members of the guild in other parts of the country and may encourage more of the groups to get students and other members of the public involved!
